SME · Approach
From a business problem to software you own.
Start with the workflow that needs to work better. Together with you and, where useful, a partner, we assess the options, demonstrate the proposed solution and agree a practical implementation plan.
How it usually starts
Often an advisory or partner spots the problem, has assessed the existing software or is already building a first application with you. Nova can also bring such a partner in. An existing app or prototype is a valid starting point; nothing has to be rebuilt on Nova by default.
Need help assessing what you have or deciding whether to buy, improve or build? ScopeRight can help define the right route.
ScopeRight is an independent assessment and scoping practice. Its market review can compare existing solutions and may conclude that building your own is, or is not, the right route.

What happensCompare keep and improve, buy and integrate, and build. Assess Backbone fit and total cost.

ResultA shared picture of what will be built or configured.
- 04
Plan the implementation
What happensFix scope, integrations, security, migration, budget, milestones and responsibilities.
ResultA practical implementation and handover plan.
- 05
Build and take ownership
What happensBuild, test with users and deliver code, documentation and operating agreements.
ResultYour own application, which your business can maintain and build further.
After the plan, you choose
- Your team builds
- Co-build with Nova
- Nova builds
Licences and updates, and day-to-day operations, are separate choices. Building yourself and receiving updates are not opposites.
Updates and operations
- Updates according to your subscription
- Operations by you, a certified partner or Nova
Training and certification
We train and certify developers to build on Nova, so your team or partner can take the application forward.
For your own team, certification is an enablement route, not a condition for owning or maintaining your custom code. For independent client delivery as a partner, Nova training and certification are required.
After delivery
Your team, a certified partner or Nova can take on the agreed operations and further development. We make clear who is responsible for hosting, monitoring, fixes and user support.
An update subscription on Nova does not replace application maintenance. If you stop updates, the agreed usage rights remain; external usage costs continue.
